HISTORY...
In 1885, A.W. Wight drove a herd of sheep from Northern New Mexico to what is now Odessa, Texas. He helped build the city of Odessa and bought the beginning parcel of land to begin the YT Ranch in 1904. He raised sheep, cattle and horses and drilled the oldest continuously pumping water well in Ector County.

TO PRESENT DAY...
The YT Ranch has continued to grow and improve the land. As a result, the ranch hosts great numbers of wildlife, including game birds, javelina, and some of the largest trophy mule deer around. Through five generations, the Wight family is still here, taking care of the land and raising cattle and horses.
